The Mathematics Department is dedicated to being a nucleus of research in diverse fields from basic research to the most innovative and emerging applied technologies, and to providing quality instructions in mathematics and fundamentals.
The Mathematics Department is a unit within the College of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Khalifa University and hosts a vibrant community of scholars who actively engage in research and development within rapidly emerging scientific fields. Research in the Mathematics Department is funded by local and international agencies. The department is actively working on setting up and developing modern experimental and computing research facilities.
The department offers a BSc program in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science. Students may choose to complete a broad program of study leading to the award of a BSc degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science, or select one of two optional concentrations in order to focus their final year in the program on a particular area of application. The two optional concentrations are in Mathematics of Financial Data and Decisions, and Mathematics of Life Sciences. A Minor in Mathematics is also offered for students who meet certain eligibility criteria. In addition to the BSc program, the department also offers MSc and PhD programs. These programs provide candidates with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the broad field of mathematics and contribute to discovery and knowledge creation through original research. They produce graduates capable of conducting independent research in mathematics at the highest levels of originality and quality.
Mathematics Department faculty are members of prestigious worldwide professional organizations such as ACS, AMS, APS, IEEE, MRS, SIAM, AAPT and others, and several are winners of prestigious peer-reviewed research awards. The department is committed to disseminating mathematical knowledge through innovative teaching, excellence in research and friendly learning environment
