Overview

Undergraduate degrees from Khalifa University of Science and Technology are designed to equip graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge that are highly sought-after in today’s job market. Khalifa University has granted over 3,200 bachelor’s degrees to qualifying undergraduate students. 

Khalifa University offers 16 Bachelor’s degree programs, some of which include optional concentrations.

UAE Nationals and applicants with Emirati mothers who are graduating from high school this year should apply through the NAPO web portal by accessing the Ministry of Education website.

UAE nationals and applicants who have already graduated from high school from previous years should apply through the KU web portal.

All international students should use the KU web portal to apply.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Khalifa University (KU), along with its partners, offers a number of undergraduate scholarships for both UAE national and non-national students.

Khalifa University Scholarship
Scholarship for UAE Nationals Students

Full scholarships covering 100 % of tuition fees are provided to UAE national students. Monthly stipends are also provided to eligible UAE national students based on their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). Details are as follows. This is subject to conditions stipulated in the General Scholarship Terms and Conditions.

Scholarship for International Students

(A) Full Scholarships - President's Scholarship

A limited number of full scholarships are available for international students with outstanding academic performance and personal qualities. These scholarships are highly competitive and dependent on meeting the university’s rigorous standards. To be considered for the President’s Scholarship, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher during their studies at Khalifa University.

(B) Partial Scholarships – Khalifa University’s Scholarship

The Khalifa University Scholarship is a general tuition support grant for students who meet the university’s rigorous standards. Developed to be a financial support for hardworking and deserving students, the KU Scholarship continues to incentivize a great number of students to do better. To be considered for the Partial’s Scholarship, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher during their studies at Khalifa University.

(C) Self-pay Scholarships

The self-pay scholarship is designed to help students who strive for recognition of their academic vigor after not initially qualifying for a scholarship. Students who are admitted to KU but did not maintain academic excellence and a high GPA before joining can make the most of this scholarship to prove themselves and receives financial reimbursements. To be considered for the Self-Pay’s Scholarship, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher during their studies at Khalifa University.

Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) Scholarship ``Betha``

The Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA), together with Khalifa University, has developed this scholarship program to help qualified UAE National students enroll in its undergraduate programs. The Be’tha Scholarship is available to UAE nationals who choose majors in Computer, Electrical and Communication Engineering.

UAE Nuclear Energy Scholarship Program (ENEC & FANR)

The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), together with Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KU), and the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) have developed a unique scholarship initiative to provide UAE Nationals with an unparalleled opportunity to be a part of what is expected to be a cornerstone of the UAE’s power supply industry for decades to come.


Requirements:
  • Hold a UAE Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in Science with a minimum overall achievement of 85%.
  • All other admission requirements are as per Khalifa University Admission requirements.
  • Proof of English language proficiency which may take one of the following forms:
  • TOEFL (internet based test) : 70 or above
  • IELTS: 6.0 or above

Ajyal Talent Management - Tamayuz Scholarship Program

The Tamayuz Scholarship Program was established in 2013 and currently mentors and manages over 100 Emirati students in the UAE and the United States, preparing them for careers in science, security, technology, engineering and related fields.


Tamayuz is offered to UAE nationals majoring in the following programs:
  • Computer Engineering
  • Communication Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Math and Statistics

Requirements:
  • The applicant must hold UAE Citizenship and Family Book
  • For high school graduates, the applicant must have: Achieved a score of at least 90% in grade 12.
  • For university students, the applicant must maintain a CGPA of minimum 3.2 and minimum 30 credit hours completed
  • The applicant must be medically fit
  • The applicant must be of good conduct

The Future Teacher Scholarship

Introduction

The Ministry of Education aims to provide a new batch of teachers with a high efficiency to teach the next generation of students in public schools in the United Arab Emirates. The provision of highly qualified teachers is a top priority for the Ministry of Education in the coming years.

As part of this objective, the Ministry, in collaboration with Khalifa University, has launched the ‘Future Teachers’ program, which offer squalified students scholarships in the following disciplines:

  • Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics

Program Goals

The program aims to offer scholarships to UAE Naitonal and Arab students living in the UAE to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or in Physics to serve as future teachers in the country.

It also seeks to provide future teachers with opportunities to be involved in community service and to receive academic and professional support and training while they are studying.

Furthermore, the program ensures that the future teachers will receive high-quality professional experience through available job opportunities at the Ministry of Education after their graduation.

Program Eligibility Criteria

For UAE National students

UAE NAtional students are subject to the same requirements for admission to Khalifa University.

For Arab students living in the UAE

The student must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a citizen of any Arab country
  • Be a resident of the UAE for the last three years
  • Have high school certificate or its equivalent from one of the accredited schools in the country
  • Must not be more than 20 years old and should have graduated high school within the past 3 years
  • Should have a score of at least 90% or its equivalent in the general secondary certificate exam
  • Must have a score of 1100 in the EmSAT English test
  • Should be a full-time student
  • Should have secured admission to Khalifa University to study Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Bachelor of Science in Physics.

Program Advantages

The program covers tuition fees at Khalifa University.

It also provides housing and transportation for male students who meet the conditions for receiving housing at Khalifa University.

Program graduates will be given priority employment at the Ministry of Education as a teacher.

ADNOC Scholarship Program

ADNOC believes that every student should have access to the world’s leading academic institutions to enable their intellectual and personal growth. ADNOC provide guidance and support for outstanding students to pursue undergraduate programs in specialized disciplines at prestigious institutions.

ADNOC Scholarship is offered to UAE nationals majoring in the following programs: Engineering majors, especially in the fields of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. Future majors related to Artificial Intelligence

Requirements:

  • Be accepted by one of the approved academic institutions for a course of study with an approved academic major. 
  • High School Certificate (or equivalent) in science stream (or equivalent) 
  • Average final examinations results of not less than 85%from a school recognized in terms of academic excellence by MoE, ADEK and KHDA with minimum achievement of 85% in each science subject
  • TOEFL (or equivalent) score of 89 and above / IELTS 6.0 and above / EMSAT 1400 
  • Be medically fit.
  • Performed or exempted national military service. 
  • Passed the admission tests and interview.
