Dr. Vignesh Sekar is currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He earned his Ph.D. from Taylor's University, Malaysia, where his research focused on the interdisciplinary fields of additive manufacturing, acoustics, and natural fiber-reinforced composites.
During his doctoral studies, Dr. Sekar made notable contributions through his research outputs, with a particular emphasis on addressing Goals 9, 12, and 13 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. His work in these areas aimed at advancing sustainable practices and technological solutions. His expertise spans the domains of additive manufacturing, where he explores innovative techniques and applications.
Additionally, his current research focus involves the exploration of the acoustic behavior of additively manufactured metamaterials. This area of study represents an intersection of additive manufacturing, acoustics, and metamaterials bringing together advanced manufacturing techniques with the manipulation of material properties for desired acoustic effects.
