Dr. Pham Le Phuong Tu earned her Bachelor Degree in Chemical and Food Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in Vietnam and went on to obtain both a Master of Science Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology in Thailand. Since June 2021, she has been a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Khalifa University. Her research focuses on addressing fouling issues in various water sectors, including sugar evaporators, cooling towers, and reverse osmosis desalination. By investigating the fundamental mechanisms of fouling, Dr. Pham aims to develop effective strategies to mitigate these challenges in industrial applications. In addition, her innovative research explores “green” chemical modifications of food biomass, such as converting seafood shell waste into sustainable chemicals like antiscalants, antimicrobial agents, flocculating agents, and adsorbents. Through her work, she seeks to enhance the efficiency in water desalination while minimizing environmental concerns.
