Biography

Dr. Muhammad Owais is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mechanical & Nuclear Engineering at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He earned his Ph.D. in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Dongguk University, Seoul, Republic of South Korea, in 2022. Dr. Owais has an extensive research background, primarily centered on developing cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) methods for image and pattern recognition, explainable AI in medical imaging, computer vision applications in medical diagnostics, and advanced AI techniques for multidimensional biomedical imaging data analysis. He has also explored applications of AI in industrial robotics and X-ray imagery data analysis for threat detection in security systems. His research has led to numerous publications in high-impact journals and conferences, with over 44 research articles published, covering topics such as autonomous localization of security threats in X-ray baggage, AI-based diagnosis of medical conditions, and innovative methods for analyzing multidimensional biomedical data. He has also been involved in various research projects, including those focusing on industrial robotics and threat detection in security systems. Dr. Owais has served as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Dongguk University, Seoul, Republic of South Korea. Dr. Owais has been recognized for his outstanding research contributions throughout his career. He was awarded the "Outstanding Research Award" by the president of Dongguk University in 2022 for his exceptional research publications during his Ph.D. He has also secured multiple scholarships throughout his academic journey.
