Dr. Charalampos (aka Babis) Pitsalidis received his BSc in Physics from the University of Crete and his MSc in Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). He was then awarded a PhD Scholarship (Heraclitus II) at AUTh, where he completed his PhD in Physics (2014). His work there focused on the fabrication of solution-processed organic field effect transistors. He then carried out three postdoctoral appointments: Institut Fresnel (2015), Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Étienne (2016) and University of Cambridge (2017).
Dr. Pitsalidis' research aims to use organic and hybrid electronic materials for the purpose of developing biomimetic structures and devices for monitoring and controlling biological systems at different length scales and complexity levels. Expanding on this, his team will focus on integrating electronics with engineered cellular constructs & tissues for the development of next generation of biochips.
