Biography

Mr. Saif Ullah is working as a Senior Lab Specialist in the Department of Earth Sciences at Khalifa University of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi, UAE. His main activities are to teach geology and geophysics lab courses like Applied Geophysics (Gravity, Magnetic, and Electrical Resistivity techniques), Reflection Seismology, Seismic Reflection Interpretation, Solid Earth Geophysics, Earth Materials, Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology, Remote Sensing and Geomatics,  Planetary Science, Matlab for Earth Scientists and Introduction to Geology and Geophysics; also to assist faculty for student’s field trips of above geophysical courses for undergraduate Earth Science students and helping faculty in geophysical research projects. Activities include managing geology and geophysical equipment (Maintenance, Testing, and Calibration), department support, and preparation of geophysical budget and PRs. Also, maintain the department teaching and research labs.

Mr. Saif's main research interests are in the area of Near-Surface and Borehole Geophysics, Hydrogeology, and Seismic Data Interpretation. 

Before joining the KU, He worked at Fugro-Suhaimi Limited to promote the Engineering Geophysical techniques in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His role includes project management throughout from field activities to the end of reporting, client discussions, and assisting the management in preparing proposals and budgets. Before Mr. Ullah was working with Fugro Middle East in the Engineering Geophysics Department for shallow surface and borehole geophysical investigations by using various geophysical techniques including ERT & VES, Borehole Logging, OhmMapper, MASW, GPR, Gravity & Microgravity, Magnetic and Electromagnetic, Portable Impact Echo System (PIES), Downhole, Crosshole, Crosshole Seismic Tomography, Seismic Cone Penetration Test, Suspension logging, Seismic Reflection and Refraction Data Acquisition, Processing & Interpretation.

Previously worked with Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) Islamabad, Pakistan in Remote Sensing and GIS application group, before that he was involved in 2D seismic data acquisition projects with Geofizyka Krakow Limited-Pakistan.
