Dr. Abdelrahman Al Mahmoud

Dr. Abdelrahman Al Mahmoud currently serves as the Director of the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office and is a Board Member of the Emirates Robotics and Automation Society. With over 12 years of experience in the research domain, Dr. Al Mahmoud has contributed to various organizations, focusing on areas such as big data analytics paradigms, privacy- preserving analytics and machine learning, cybersecurity, and robotics.

He previously held the position of Principal Researcher and Director at the Technology Innovation Institute, where he led the Secure Machine Learning and Secure Cloud teams. Prior to that, he served as Advisor and Head of Research and Infrastructure at the Artificial Intelligence Office in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Dr. Al Mahmoud was a member of the inaugural UAE Youth Science Council and a Sub-Committee Member of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (11th edition), where he emphasized the role of AI in medicine. He is also a member of the UAE’s Steering Committee for the ISO SC42 Working Group for AI and serves as the Technical Committee Coordinator for The Digital School initiative under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.
