Biography

Dr. B Neethu is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Khalifa University, specializing in innovative systems for controlling the dynamic response of bridges under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Andreas Kappos. She earned her Ph.D. from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India, with a focus on seismic vibration control techniques for bridges using MR dampers. Her research interests include structural vibration control, semi-active dampers, active mass dampers, base isolation, and control algorithms.

Previously, Dr. Neethu was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the American University of Sharjah, where she developed adaptive control algorithms for active mass damper-based structural vibration control of buildings and set up lab experiments using a shake table to validate these systems. Before this, she worked at Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology in Canada, where she taught courses for civil and mechanical engineering programs and served as a course writer for curriculum development. She also served as faculty at Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Dubai and the University of Bolton RAK Campus in the UAE.
