Professor Basema Saddik brings over 20 years of experience in higher education, public health research, and academic leadership. She joins Khalifa University from the University of Sharjah, where she served as Director of the Center of Excellence for Public Health, and Coordinator of the Clinical Epidemiology Research Group. She also holds an adjunct professorship at the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney Australia, where she completed both her PhD and Master’s in public health.
Her research spans multiple countries, including Australia, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE and since 2020 has been recognized annually among the top 2% of global researchers in public health and medicine by Stanford University. Prof Saddik’s research focuses on identifying risk factors for disease in vulnerable populations and addressing health disparities through evidence-based public health approaches. In July 2023, Prof. Saddik was awarded a Fellowship by Distinction to the Faculty of Public Health of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), in recognition of her significant contributions and expertise in the field of public health.
