The white coat is the symbol of clinical service and care. It is a rite of passage for first-year medical students in the journey toward a healthcare career it is a formal ceremony during which each medical student receives his or her white coat.
KU Class of 2024 medical students will take the Medical Professional Oath, receive their white coat, and be welcomed into the medical profession by Dr. John Rock, Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, in this ceremony that marks the beginning of their professional education.
