OVERVIEW

OVERVIEW

During the development of a hydrocarbon reservoir, several wells are drilling including production and injection wells. These wells should be properly designed, completed, and tested to meet certain well objectives and to maximize well productivity. These different objectives include optimization of production/injection performance, safety insurance, maximum integrity and reliability of the well completion over the life of the completed well, minimum total costs of fluid produced or injected, and minimum costs of initial completion, production/injection maintenance, and remedial measures. This area includes different completion designs, well performance optimization based on nodal analysis, fluid flow through perforations and perforation techniques, reservoir stimulation methods including acidizing and hydraulic fracturing treatments, well safety requirements in well design, artificial lift methods, well interventions and workover, pressure tests and controls throughout the completion process, wireline operations, smart completions, and other subsurface completion accessories.
