Dr. Gandra Upendar Reddy received his PhD in Supramolecular Chemistry from CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (NCL),Inida in 2016. Following his thesis submission, Dr. Reddy moved to Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany, where he worked as a Research Scientist from 2015 to 2018. During his time in Germany, he developed light-induced therapeutic molecules. In 2018, he joined Texas A&M University in Qatar as a Postdoctoral Researcher, focusing on olefin metathesis-derived functional materials for energy, health, and environmental applications.
From 2021 to 2023, Dr. Reddy held a Research Assistant Professor position at UNIST in South Korea, where he secured a prestigious National Research Grant of Korea for drug-free cancer research. He has since joined Khalifa University as a Research Scientist.
Dr. Reddy has extensive multidisciplinary research experience, with expertise in the design, synthesis, and purification of organic, inorganic, and polymer molecules. He has co-authored publications in high-impact journals such as Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), Organic Letters, Chemical Communications, Chemical Science, and ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, covering areas such as chemistry, sensing, catalysis, and drug-release applications.
He visited many countries; He has collaborated in South Korea, the USA, Germany, Qatar, and India. He received two Best Poster awards.
