Biography

Dr. Steffy Sara Varghese is a postdoctoral fellow within the Department of Mathematics, where she is affiliated with the Space and Planetary Science Research Group. With an expertise in space plasma physics, Dr. Steffy delves into the intricate dynamics of solar plasma and its profound influence on planetary magnetospheres.  Her research is centered on theoretical and computational modeling, aiming to unravel the dynamics of nonlinear waves in different planetary magnetospheres.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Dr. Steffy was honored with the esteemed Young Scientist Award by the International Union of Radio Science in 2023.

Dr. Steffy did her PhD in Space Physics from the renowned Indian Institute of Geomagnetism. Her masters and bachelors degrees in physics are from Mahatma Gandhi University, India.
