Additional Info

I have been recently appointed as the Director of the Center for Membranes and Advanced Water Technology (CMAT), and the Thrust Lead "Water Technology" in the Research and Innovation Center for Graphene and 2D Materials (RIC-2D) at Khalifa University of Science and Technology (KU). Prior to that, I served as Deputy Director and Theme Lead at CMAT. I am also a Co-Founder of the Water Intelligence Testing Center (WITC) at KU. Research within these centers show great promise for wide-reaching impact in academic and industrial circles, and are ideally positioned to receive funding by public and private industrial partners, seeking new and sustainable solutions in the fields of nanomaterials, membranes and water purification.

During my academic career at KU, I have established research collaboration with international universities and institutes such as MIT, Harvard and Yale (USA), Manchester, Oxford, Brunel London, and Bradford (UK), Concordia and McGill (Canada), UTS (Australia), Korea (Korea) and Salerno (Italy), among others. Throughout my academic career, I have been recognized as an excellent researcher and designer (first to design the novel submerged membrane electro-bioreactor for municipal wastewater treatment at a pilot scale - Montreal, Canada), and have obtained a number of prestigious awards including the FQRNT.
