Dr. Natasa Nastic is a postdoctoral fellow at Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. She holds PhD in Food
Engineering from the Faculty of Technology Novi Sad (Serbia). Her formal education was complemented with various professional skills trainings at several national and international institutions: University of Granada and University of Seville (Spain, 2013, 2014), Centre for Functional Food Research and Development, CIDAF, Granada (Spain, 2013, 2016), Institute of Food Technology (Serbia, 2017) and Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (India, 2023). Her expertise includes the experience in the extraction and isolation of biologically important molecules of natural origin, developing, improvement and implementation of various techniques of conventional and advanced extractions, particularly subcritical water and supercritical fluid extraction. Dr. Nastic also deals with physical-chemical and biological analyzes of obtained extracts of medicinal plants, food, by-products and waste from food and agricultural industry, as well as the possibilities of their enrichment in order to obtain products with improved health benefits. She participated in several national and international, as well as bilateral cooperation projects of the Republic of Serbia with Italy, Germany, Croatia and Portugal. Dr. Nastić was a Science Communication Coordinator and WG4 co-leader of CA18224 and CA21146, respectively. She is also the principal investigator of scientific research
projects/grants approved by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology, Belgium at the Institute of Experimental Biology and Technology-iBET (Portugal, 2020), Yildiz Technical University (Istanbul, Turkey, 2021), Cyprus University of Technology (Limassol, Cyprus, 2022),
University AbdelMalek Essaadi (Larache, Morocco, 2022), KORRES-Natural products
(Oinofyta, Greece, 2023) and University of Naples Federico II (Naples, Italy, 2023). Her research findings were summarized in more than 30 papers, more than 50 conference presentations, and book chapters. She is a reviewer of more than 100 scientific papers in numerous international journals and serves as a guest editor in several journals. She actively participates in the promotion and popularization of science through numerous international and national scientific and professional conferences, as well as manifestations and events such as the Science Festival and the Education Fair. She is a member of the organizing committee of the International Conference on Advanced Production and Processing - ICAPP and Grenering International Conference. In addition, Dr. Nastic is a mentor of one doctoral dissertation in the field of food and pharmaceutical engineering.
