Biography

Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Sabri is a Postdoc in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Under the supervision of Prof. Lourdes Vega and affiliated with the Research and Innovation Center on CO2 and Hydrogen (RICH Center), his research focuses on decarbonization, clean energy, and sustainable fuels. Dr. Sabri obtained his Ph.D. in Engineering from Khalifa University in 2024 and completed his master's in chemical engineering from the American University of Sharjah in 2017. He was a visiting scholar at the same institution in 2017 and 2019.

Before his postdoctoral work, Dr. Sabri served as a Lecturer at MNS-University of Engineering and Technology, Multan, Pakistan, from 2012 to 2015, where he also managed sports activities and founded a sports society. With over 24 publications, he is recognized for his expertise in heterogeneous catalysis, biofuel production and upgradation, and wastewater treatment, with a current focus on CO2 capture and utilization, and sustainable fuels. His notable works include review papers on integrated carbon capture & utilization and activated carbon fibers production, among other research works.
