Biography

Dr. Hemant Singh is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Biological Sciences Department at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Before this, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Biological Sciences and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. Dr. Singh's academic journey culminated in attaining his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India in 2022. His doctoral research, conducted within the Department of Polymer and Process Engineering, delved into the intricacies of Biomaterials Science, Decellularization Techniques, Self-assembled and Injectible Hydrogels, Small Molecules Hydrogels, Chronic Wound Management, Nanotechnology, Drug Delivery, Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering. Dr. Singh acquired a Master's degree in Packaging with a focus on Biomaterials, Nanotechnology, Food, and Pharmaceutical Packaging materials from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2016. His pursuit of knowledge commenced with a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, in 2014. His extensive publication record shows Dr. Singh's prolific contributions to the scientific community, with over 51 publications in esteemed international journals, conferences, and book chapters. Additionally, his innovative work has been recognized through the grant of Three Patents, further solidifying his impact on the intersection of science and technology.

Dr. Singh is currently focusing on interdisciplinary research to develop biomaterials-based technologies that address a wide range of significant medical problems, including chronic wounds, microbial infections, bone defects, nerve regeneration, joint disorders, cancer, auto-immune disorders, and allograft rejections.

His primary goal at Khalifa University is to explore the potential of next-generation biomaterials in developing translational, affordable healthcare technologies to address urgent unmet clinical needs.
