Biography

Dr. Ayat Taha is a post-doctoral fellow in the electrical engineering and computer science department at Khalifa university. She received a Ph.D. degree in interdisciplinary Engineering from Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi. Her PhD work was centered on investigation of optical fluid sensors using prominent optical devices such as Mach-Zehnder interferometers as well as Micro-ring resonators. She also worked in a project for optical communication systems for efficient, flexible, and high-speed communication services via miniaturized optical components. She successfully completed tapeouts with leading semiconductor foundries such as GlobalFoundries (GF), Institute of Microelectronics (IME), and Applied Nanotools (ANT).  She has more than 8 years of experience in silicon photonics, including simulation, design, and experimental techniques. She worked on several different projects with IME, and GF whereby her research revolved around the development and commercialization of eco-efficient products in the field of healthcare, environmental monitoring, robotics, machine vision in the silicon photonics platform.
