Ms. Aya Shanti earned her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Khalifa University in 2017 and 2019, respectively. During her academic career, Ms. Shanti taught several undergraduate courses and mentored both undergraduate and post-graduate students. In addition, she has published more than 13 articles in high impact Q1 journals and produced one international patent.
Ms. Shanti is the recipient of the 2018 Technology Innovation Pioneer healthcare award (awarded via a joint partnership between the Department of Health and Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, UAE) and the best paper award in the 2019 UAE Graduate Students Research Conference.
Her research interests revolve around organs-on-chip, bioprinting and drug delivery systems.
