The Khalifa University Physics Club in collaboration with the American Nuclear Society KU Student Chapter, and the KU National Identity Club, hosted ‘Celebrating Women and Mothers in STEM’ in honor of International Mothers’ Day.
The virtual event highlighted the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Through engaging talks and interactive discussions, participants gained insight into the historical contributions of women in STEM, as well as the impactful work being carried out by women in these fields.
A key highlight of the event was a session led by Dr. Ingyin Zaw, Associate Professor of Physics, NYU Abu Dhabi. Dr. Zaw shared her research contributions and personal journey in physics, offering valuable perspectives on the challenges and milestones that shaped her career. Her talk inspired students and faculty, providing practical insights into pursuing success in STEM disciplines.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where participants engaged with Dr. Zaw, asking questions about her research, career path, and broader opportunities in physics and STEM.
