Dr. Stuart Gietel-Basten is the author/editor of three books, which he will discuss in his talk. In this session, he will explore the ups and downs of writing books and also share some reflections on what he would tell his younger self based on his experiences.

Prior to joining Khalifa University, Dr. Stuart Gietel-Basten was Professor of Social Science and Public Policy at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Associate Professor of Social Policy at the University of Oxford. His research covers issues relating to population change in Asia: especially on gender roles, family development, ageing and health. At KU, Dr. Stuart is a co-lead researcher on the Abu Dhabi Pregnancy Risk Assessment and Monitoring System, and teaches courses on psychology and human behavior.
