Biography

Dr. Ameena Al-Sumaiti received her Doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo (Canada) in 2015. She was a visiting professor at
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) in 2017 and is currently with Khalifa University. She made significant contributions to society, capacity-building,
education and research. She is in the list of 2021 top 2{0961db0d5220b4955a3f07ef234db6dc96890fe8a6be6f8a7c66584c2fe2ed1b} scientists of the world and on the shortlist of national talent search among 2000 applicants. She is leading the Smart OR Lab.  She received more than
34 awards, privileges and prestigious local and international fellowships including he University of Waterloo Graduate Scholarship Award, UW Faculty of Engineering Graduate Scholarship Award, Provost Doctoral Entrance Award for Women, UW/NSERC Graduate Scholarship Award, Masdar Scholarship Award, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award, United Arab Emirates University Award, UAEU Honor Student Program Award, Creativity Club Award, Al-Maktoum Institute Award, Abu Dhabi Education Council Award and Photography Competition Award, etc.
