Before joining KU in 2013, Ibrahim was awarded a PhD specializing in Organic Chemistry in 2008 in University of Miami, FL and had four years of post-doctoral research associate experience in University of Miami, FL, and Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH. His research involved the synthesis, characterization, and applications of nanoparticles in material and biomedical sciences. At KU, he has taught General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry courses. His research interests at KU comprise computational modeling of reaction mechanisms and environmental chemistry. He is passionate about teaching, and uses a variety of tools in his classes including modeling sets, software, and online learning tools.
