Description

The Life Sciences Club co-organized the KU Open Day with the Biological Sciences Department. The event was open to the public and many prospective students interested in biology engaged in our booth (Biological Sciences Booth). Furthermore, the visitors participated in the Life Sciences Club activities such as the “Is it a Microbe or a Pokemon?” game which tested visitors on their microbiology knowledge. The visitors also received biology-themed giveaways and prizes.

Number of attendees/audience

Over 100 people visited the booth. The targeted audience was students interested in the biological sciences bachelors, masters, and phd programs. This event was open to the public so a variety of visitors were present from faculty and university students to school students and teachers.

Notable achievements and outcomes

High school student engagement was particularly strong, with over 50 attendees expressing interest in enrolling in the CAMB program. Many participated in interactive activities, and several signed up for follow-up meetings to learn more about the application process. The officers and volunteers of this event received a certificate of appreciation from the Biological Sciences Department.
