IT Senior specialist - ZMU

Job Purpose:

The IT Senior Specialist is responsible for providing advanced technical support to end-users and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, and actively contributing to the improvement of IT processes and systems.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Operational Responsibilities:

·         Provide advanced technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues.

·         Diagnose and resolve complex IT problems, escalating issues when necessary.

·         Ensure timely resolution of support tickets within established service level agreements (SLAs).

·         Manage and prioritize IT support incidents and service requests.

·         Implement preventive measures to reduce the occurrence of recurring issues.

·         Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to problem resolution.

·         Administer and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

·         Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.

·         Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data.

·         Work on Configuration and Management of Active Directory Servers -  Users, Computers and Privileges;

·         Work on Configuration and Management of Virtual Server Environments;

·         Work on Configuration and Management of local Domain Servers;

·         Manage Server Platforms;

·         Manage backup of Infrastructure Servers;

·         Configure and Manage UCS -  IP Telephony, WebEx Servers and IVR systems;

·         Supervise Installation of Desktop OS and applications, Server based Applications;

·         Manage Desktop Imaging using appropriate tools;

·         Manage Desktop Security and Antivirus via Centralized Tools;

·         Install and configure Servers and other Datacenter Infrastructure components;

·         Monitor upkeep and maintenance of  Computing Labs;

·         Monitor HelpDesk and ensure SLA compliance;

·         Maintain documentation related to Support Activities Carried out;

·         Adhere to the University's information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly

·         Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed

·         Demonstrate a strong commitment and practice to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment

·         Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager

 


Qualifications


Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or equivalent

Required Soft Skills:

Adaptability, proactivity, willingness to take on additional responsibilities; skilled in relationship building and teamwork.

Required Experience:

Expats:

A minimum 7 years of relevant experience.

UAE Nationals:

A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
