July 8, 2026

Khalifa University’s Department of Physics was honored to welcome Professor John Ellis, Clerk Maxwell Professor of Theoretical Physics at King’s College London and CERN, an internationally renowned theoretical particle physicist whose pioneering contributions have significantly advanced particle physics phenomenology.

Prof. Ellis, who pioneered phenomenological studies of the Higgs boson in 1975, visited Khalifa University and met with the dean Prof. Ehab El-Saadany, department chairperson, Dr. Dirar Al Homouz, many faculty members and students. His visit included discussions on current research in high-energy physics activities, opportunities, and ways to further strengthen academic and scientific engagement in physics in general and high-energy physics in particular at KU.
