Abstract

Sixonia Tech is a technology-driven start-up based in Dresden, Germany, specializing in the production and functionalization of large-flake, few-layer graphene materials. Our core technology, based on electrochemical exfoliation and functionalization of graphene,[1] enables the tailoring of graphene properties for specific applications at low cost. Our E-Graphenes exhibit unique features, such as large flake-sizes in the µm-range, low thickness of 1-10 layers, and excellent processability. Compared to other graphene products, our E-Graphenes demonstrate superior combination of properties in a single material, including high electrical conductivity and good dispersibility in water and other solvents without the need for surfactants. Unlike in GO, the defined functional groups can provide an improved processability while still offering a reasonable sheet size and maintaining high electrical conductivity that is typically two orders of magnitude higher than that of commonly used reduced graphene oxide (rGO) materials.

With good scalability, high yield, low production costs, and eco-friendly process technology, Sixonia Tech aims to unlock the untapped potential of graphene in various fields, particularly in the energy and environmental markets. For example, our E-Graphenes are ideal for replacing traditional carbon blacks as conductive additives in battery electrode formulations, offering improved electrical conductivity and significant performance benefits.
