The KU-TII 6G Chair official Kick-Off meeting took place on April 23, 2024, in the presence of Sir John O’Reilly, the President of Khalifa University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Ray Johnson, the chief Executive Officer of the Technology Innovation Institute (TII).
6G Chair General Objectives
In 2023, Khalifa University and the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) decided to strengthen their partnership by establishing a dedicated program, the 6G KU—TII Chair.
The general objectives of the 6G chair are:
- Catalyze some research areas aligned with the 6G center objectives.
- Stimulate the development of wireless technologies and provide support to activities in wireless communications both nationally and internationally.
- Collaborate by offering complementary expertise with the local telecommunications industry and international entities including agencies, industry, research, and academic institutions.
- Engage in training activities in connection with the undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering offered at KU.
