Khalifa University to Hold a Workshop on Visual Signal Analysis and Processing

The workshop will feature international speakers from both academia and the industry.

Khalifa University will host a workshop on visual signal analysis and processing from November 9 to 10 at its Abu Dhabi campus. The event which will feature international speakers from academia and industry will focus on the areas of signal image and video processing and computer vision.

The workshop will include tutorial sessions and keynote talks on selected topics within image processing specifically topics that interest undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty interested in visual signal analysis and processing within the UAE. Speakers include Prof. Rabab Ward from the University of British Columbia Canada; Prof. Carlo S. Regazzoni University of Genova Italy; and Prof. David Bull University of Bristol UK who will give a keynote address on Video Compression.

The tutorial session which will take place on the second day of the workshop will focus mainly on image and video compression and will be conducted by Prof. Lina Karam from Arizona State University U.S.A.

Visual Signal Analysis and Processing generally focusses around the key areas of surveillance and machine vision video communications and image security and biometrics and bio-imaging.
