Khalifa University Students Commit to Academic Integrity

Campaign has seen students sign a pledge and design artwork that demonstrates their academic values.

Khalifa University sign Academic PledgeKhalifa University students have pledged to uphold academic integrity through a special campaign organized by the University’s Student Council. The campaign requires students to make a pledge saying “As a Khalifa University student I will not lie cheat steal or use any unfair means in academic work and will behave according to university rules and UAE societal norms and expectations ” and to sign a board demonstrating their commitment to the pledge. 

“The academic pledge reminds our students how to act and tells them why they shouldn’t cheat or plagiarize and that they should abide by the University’s rules ” Hamad Alaydaroos President of the Student Council. “As a student council we are trying to get students involved and create a lifestyle that engages our students and helps them show their creativity.” 

In addition to the signature and pledge the student council are also holding a competition for students asking them to create artwork be it a photograph a video a drawing or painting literature an audio recording or a game that best demonstrates the values expressed in the Academic Code. 

It’s great to see our student council engaging students in a way that promotes the values of academic integrity ” said Dr. Tod Laursen President of Khalifa University. “While the Academic Integrity Pledge is not new this kind of interactive involvement is and I believe it really gets the students thinking about what honesty pledge in accordance to the values of the University and the country really means.  I look forward to seeing the artwork that comes out of the competition as our students are very creative and I’m sure they will capture the essence of the pledge.”
