Khalifa University Sponsors International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Computing

WiMob 2015 will be held in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Education Council and IEEE.

Khalifa University in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) is sponsoring the 11th Annual Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Computing Networking and Communications or WiMob 2015.   The conference will be held at the Novotel Al Bustan from October 19 to 21 and is also being sponsored by IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society.  The conference saw 445 papers submitted with 125 accepted for presentation and should attract over 150 attendees. 

IEEE WiMob is an international forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience among researchers developers and practitioners of wireless and mobile technology. For ten years the International IEEE WiMob conference has provided unique opportunities for researchers and developers to interact share new results show live demonstrations and discuss emerging directions in Wireless Communications Mobile Networking and Ubiquitous Computing. 

The first day of the conference will be devoted to workshops and paper presentations while the second and third days will be dedicated to the main conference as well as paper presentations. The conference will feature some discussions by Khalifa University faculty and others by academics from around the world on emerging wireless body to body technologies e-Health Architectures and Services Internet Security Future Wireless Networking and Mobility and New Schemes for 5G Communications. There will also be two key note addresses the first by Falko Dressler University of Paderborn Germany who will discuss “From Connected Cars to Smart Cities – On Wireless Communication Latency and Reliability” and the second by Paul Crane BT UK who will deliver a presentation entitled “

Paul Crane is Head of Practice in BT’s Research and Innovation group. Paul leads applied research activities in Mobile Wireless and Sustainability. The objective of this work is the development and delivery of technical solutions for next generation services. His current research activities are focused on the application of emerging mobile technologies to meeting the needs of consumer and business customers. Paul is a telecommunications engineer with over 20 years in the industry. He has undertaken a variety of from strategic technology roles with BT in the UK USA and Europe. Paul has a personal interest in the development of voice multimedia communications and mobile technology
