Khalifa University Held Successful Career Day for Students

Career Day offered students the opportunity to meet with potential employers

Khalifa University held today at its Abu Dhabi campus a special career day for its students. The event hosted over 40 organizations from Abu Dhabi and Dubai and gave them the opportunity to meet with interested students and discuss possible employment and internships. 

Some of the organizations represented included:Abu Dhabi Airports Company the Abu Dhabi Education Council ATIC Strata twofour54 DP World General Electric Etihad Airways Siemens and Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Center. 

The event was designed so that students and organizations could benefit from discussions revolving around potential sponsorships internships and employment post-graduation. The organizations had an opportunity to meet with high quality Khalifa University students and get an assessment of how the University operates while exploring avenues for possible collaboration and support. 

“Career Fairs like this one we organized at Khalifa University are important because they provide our students with opportunities to liaise directly with industry leaders ” said Dr. Tod Laursen Khalifa University’s President. “It’s not just about creating a chance for our students to meet with potential employers although that is a focus it’s also about providing our students with opportunities to discuss important aspects of their education like internship opportunities and sponsorship. Khalifa University is dedicated to providing our students with the best education possible and that would not be possible without close ties to industry.” 

Commenting on her participation at the exhibition Aisha Al Ali a Senior Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at Khalifa University said: “During the Career Fair I learnt about available internships and career opportunities and was impressed by the outstanding quality of them.” 

Aidaroos Al Aidaroos another senior student at the Computer Engineering program said: “The Career Fair has provided Khalifa University students with excellent internship opportunities that are relevant to their fields of study. It’s great to have all these organizations exhibiting in one place on campus it’s definitely more convenient. The level of interest we see from the various organizations today validates the high level of education that we receive here.” 

Mariam Sabbagh Recruitment Manager at Emirates Advanced Investment Group one of the exhibiting organizations at the Career Fair said: “I was impressed by the level of the students and their interest in the opportunities presented today which mostly focused on internships. This is especially helpful as we work towards introducing internship opportunities at the group.” 

Talal Mohamed Eid Recruitment Manager at Abu Dhabi Ports Company said: “The fair today gathers a large number of major organizations from across the UAE. We have previously recruited a number of Khalifa University students for internship and we were impressed by their level of excellence”.
