Evidence that a food product or consumer product has not been tampered with prior to purchase is of high importance to consumers. The developed tamper-proof device can be attached to a object to aid consumers in detecting if the object has been tampered with. The tamper-proof device is comprised of a body that can be attached to an object, a transducer to detect a change in the body, and an indicator or controller.
