What are the new arrangements and benefits for PhD?

June 12, 2023

Scholarship eligibility is assessed as part of the admission process and applicants are not required to submit a separate scholarship application.

The number of available scholarship slots is limited.

All applicants are evaluated and mapped to a specific scholarship Tier on the basis of academic merit, research potential and other relevant factors, in line with Khalifa University’s strategic priorities. Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee a scholarship award.

Scholarship benefits for PhD students may include the following, depending on the Tier:

  • Waiver of tuition fees up to 100%.
  • Competitive monthly stipend for high caliber UAE National and international students.
  • Health insurance for full-time international students sponsored by Khalifa University.
  • Free University accommodation only for full-time eligible students.
  • Mobilization and demobilization flights for full-time overseas international students.
  • Coverage of UAE visa application fees for full-time international students.
  • Textbooks provided by the University.
  • Applicants who select work commitment path will be committed to work and contribute to KU’s research objectives upon study completion for a period equivalent to the period of study.
  • Applicants may pursue PhD studies without a work commitment after graduation, however scholarship benefits will vary.
