Nowadays, virtual meetings and interviews are common. During virtual fairs, you will be meeting with different employers online instead of talking to each other face-to-face.
Here are a few things you need to note when you are at a virtual meeting:
- It can be a 1-on-1 meeting or group meeting. Make sure you are ready for either type of meeting.
- Employers are going to ask you to talk about yourself and future interests. Prepare an outline of what you want to say.
- They will also expect you to ask them some questions. Make a list of questions that you want to ask beforehand.
- If possible, turn on your webcam. It will give a good impression if the interviewer can see you during the meeting. If for some reason you cannot have your webcam on, you have to apologize that you are unable to open your camera.
- Do not read from the screen while talking to employers. They will definitely know.
Take in consideration that there are many students waiting to talk to the same employer after you. Make your conversation with the employer short and concise, but make sure you are able to highlight your skills and experience needed for the job you are applying for.
