I am applying for a PhD program. Do I need to contact a potential supervisor first to agree on a research topic?

November 15, 2019

Applicants are not required to contact potential supervisors prior to submitting their application. However, prior to drafting the Research Statement, PhD applicants are encouraged to explore the University’s research priorities and view Faculty profiles on our website. Research Statement guidelines can be found on the Graduate Admissions – Requirements webpage. The assignment of supervisors will be made by the University following the completion of the application process and is based on strategic research priorities.
