Tuition Fees

Per Credit Hour Costs

Khalifa University has structured its tuition fees on a per credit hour basis. The detailed fees per academic level are as follows:

Bachelor of Science (BSc): AED 2,500 per credit hour
Master's (MSc): AED 5,000 per credit hour
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD): AED 6,666 per credit hour

Note: The estimated cost is based on the normal duration of study required to earn the degree. Exceeding the normal study period will result in additional costs, which are determined by the degree tuition per credit hour rate.

Housing Guidelines:

Khalifa University reserves the right to revise the housing fees at anytime during the academic year. Any increase in housing fees will be limited to a maximum of 5% in an academic year.
Accommodation is given to international students and students residing outside of Abu Dhabi.
Priority for student housing will be given to first year and international students.
Accommodation during the summer term is subject to availability of housing units and the scheduling of required maintenance.
A security deposit of AED 2,000 must be paid within the first semester.
Graduate students receiving stipends from the university will have their accommodation fees for the semester deducted from their stipends.

Transportation Guidelines:

Khalifa University reserves the right to revise the transportation fees at anytime during the academic year. Any increase in transportation fees will be limited to a maximum of 5% in an academic year.
For student accommodation residents, weekend return transportation will be provided according to the cost as per the table.
Weekend transportation is provided if at least four students can be accommodated within a route.
Other transportation services as mentioned below are provided to Khalifa University students at no cost:
- Transportation between campuses
- Transportation from dorms to campuses

Other Fees

Upon graduation, the student will be provided with the first original Diploma and 1 transcript copy for free.
Upon request, the graduate will be provided with free certified true copy of the Diploma.
Duplicate copies of the Diploma will be charged AED 50 for each copy (AED 52.5 after VAT).
Transcript copies, will be charged AED 25 for each copy (AED 26.25 after VAT).
Sending documents through courier: fees to be evaluated by the mailing room and then charged to the student (amount will include 5% VAT).

Online Payment (Preferred for all students with Banner access)

Students can pay by credit card (Visa and MasterCard only), or Apple Pay online. Log into KU Portal, E-Services, select Academic, and go to “SS Services”. Select Online Payment from the menu.

For errors in online payment, please contact IT by email at: Servicedesk@ku.ac.ae with a copy to KUAccountReceivables@ku.ac.ae along with screenshot of the error message.

You can pay by Bank Transfer or make a deposit to avoid missing the payment deadline.

Transfer or processing charges should be borne by the student and should not be deducted from the fees due.
The transfer instructions should clearly mention the student’s name, KU ID number and semester.
The transfer copy should be scanned and emailed to KUAccountReceivables@ku.ac.ae
Deposits can be made at any First Abu Dhabi Bank branch.
Post-dated checks should not be deposited at the bank.
Excess payment transfers amounting to less than AED 100 will not be refunded.

Payment Deadlines

The information in this section is confirmed with an exact deadline on the student admission offer and/or the fee and payment guide which students will receive once fee assessment for a given semester runs.

Guidelines and Advanced Payment Table:

A seat holding deposit of AED 5,000 should be paid by newly admitted students on or before the Seat Holding Deadline as applicable. This deposit is not refundable for those students that do not enroll. For those students that enroll, this deposit will be used as a credit towards their first payment or if they do not have a due payment, the deposit will be refunded at the end of the semester.

**For International PhD students on Tier 3 (Research Path), the assessed tuition amount will be deducted monthly from the student stipend paid in the assessed semester. Further details on the payment schedule will be provided on the Fee and Payment guide document. New students on partial scholarship and self-pay schemes should pay advance Tuition Fee Payment for the semester as per the table below (Advanced Payment Table). Further details on the Advance Payment schedule will be provided along with the admission offer.
The difference between the Tuition Fee for actual courses and the Advanced Tuition Payment will be settled by the student during the Tuition Fee Payment Deadlines. If the Advanced Payment exceeds the tuition for the actual registered courses, the excess amount will be used to settle other outstanding fees, credited towards the next semester, or refunded at the end of the semester upon the student's request.
Graduate students who are also using the accommodation will only pay one deposit of AED 2,000 which is the security deposit. But this will be due in advance before entry to the accommodation.
If the payment is not made by the final deadline, registration hold will be placed on the student record (by second payment deadline, prior to early registration of following semester). Registration for upcoming semesters remains on hold and grades of the current semester are blocked until payment is made in full.
The payment deadline and penalties apply regardless of any pending appeals. If the appeal is approved, the penalty will be reversed or refunded as applicable.
Students not planning to attend a particular course must drop that course during the add/drop period. Students reported as “no show” in a course will be withdrawn from the course and will not be entitled for a refund.
