Dr. James Kirtley, Professor, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a specialist in electric machinery and power systems engineering, recently visited the laboratories and research facilitates at Khalifa University.   Dr. Kirtley, also an Advisory Board member for Advanced Power and Energy Center (APEC). Dr. Ehab Fahmy El-Sadaany, Professor of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and Director of the Advanced Power and Energy Center (APEC) at KU has been appointed by the Emirates Scientists Council to fill out new roles in the organization.   Dr. El-Sadaany is selected to be the deputy of the Science in Media Committee. Dr. Vinod Khadkikar, Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, has been named IEEE Fellow. Workshop with Al-Ain Distribution Company

APEC organized a full-day workshop with Al-Ain Distribution Company (AADC). APEC presented its research capabilities as well as testing and training services based on the needs of AADC. Furthermore, APEC got the chance to know about recent projects and challenges within AADC operation, visit different places at AADC (e.g., training center, control room, etc.), meeting different groups (e.g, network planning, testing and protection, O&M etc.). Finally, the workshop served in advertising our graduate program as a group of UAEU student participated. The workshop took place on November 24, 2019.

APEC Hosts Online-Seminar on High-Power Electromagnetics

The Technology Innovation Institute through its Directed Energy Research Center and Khalifa University through its Advanced Power and Energy Center organized a two-day online-seminar on high-power electromagnetics.
