Edge-Cloud Computation and Blockchain

Blockchain technology has recently generated significant research interest worldwide. This promising direction is toward the development of a fully decentralized, open infrastructure for the reliable and secure integration of CPS systems. C2PS lab hosts several types of equipment to support cloud computing and Blockchain research, as well as quantum computing. Experimentation focus on the development of a CPS infrastructure platform with emphasis on security, privacy, trust, and support for the development of Decentralized Applications (DApps).  In parallel, extensive experiments are being carried out to evaluate the effect of the quality of random number generators on Bayesian deep leaning performance and big data analysis.

In the IoT domain, C2PS also hosts a range of research and commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), sensors and software to support drone related research. In C2PS lab, researchers have been developing methods that use the CPS infrastructure to support location-based authorization for UAVs and to analyze big data collected by the CPS to improve safe drone operation.

Some of the noteworthy equipment under this facility are:

  • Edge processors (multi-blade devices) with on-board storage
  • Quantum number generators
  • Commercial and research UAVs
