Overview Supporting aquatic ecosystems through action Water sensitive waste disposal Maintaining a local ecosystem

Khalifa University advances marine sustainability through coastal ecosystem research, blue carbon studies and marine technology development. Scientists investigate the health of mangroves, seagrass and marine biodiversity that form the backbone of Gulf ecosystems. Advanced sensors, robotics and AI technology, drones and remote imaging tools help monitor marine environment, water quality and coastal dynamics. Khalifa University explores the use of marine robotics for sustainable ocean ecosystems, including underwater cleaning of plastics, coral reef inspection, and critical infrastructure inspection. Research on desalination impacts supports the development of environmentally considerate water treatment technologies. Community engagement initiatives raise public awareness on protecting coastal environments.
