An ensemble Renewable Energy Management System (REMS) tool was developed for KA CARE (Saudi Arabia) to prepare for the increasing share of renewable energy Sources in the generation mix of the Kingdom. It will facilitate reliable and efficient dispatching of renewable energy systems that will result in reducing the cost of generation and optimized management of the required spinning reserve. The developed REMS tool includes precise renewable power prediction schemes for solar plants (both PV and CSP), load forecasting tool, confident prediction interval, control strategies for scheduling renewable power generation with minimum utilization of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
