The Khalifa University Center for Biotechnology (KUCEB) is hosting a workshop titled “Complex and Mendelian Trait Analysis of Next Generation Sequence Data Workshop”, taking place on 10-14 March 2019, at the KU Main Campus, from 9am to 3pm.
The goal of the workshop is to teach both the theory and application of methods to analyze next-generation sequence (NGS) data for human complex and Mendelian traits. Attendees will learn how to design studies, call variants from NGS data, analysis of population-, trio- and family-based sequence data and evaluation of variant functionality. Analyses will include performing complex trait rare variant association analysis for population and trio data. Exercises will be carried out using a variety of computer programs (GATK, IGV, Polyphen2, PSEQ, SEQPower, SEQSpark and Variant Association Tools (VAT)).
Each session will begin with a theoretical introduction followed by practical exercises
The workshop will be delivered by Dr. Suzanne Leal from the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, US, and Dr. Michael Nothnagel, from the University of Cologne, in Germany.
Registration is currently closed.
