IES and Masdar Institute will work together to promote mutual interest of creating a more sustainable built environment
Glasgow, Tuesday, 10 December 2013 â€“ IES today announced they have signed an agreement with Masdar Institute of Science and Technology to form a working partnership that will promote the creation of a more sustainable built environment. The agreement includes the provision of free academic licenses of the IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) to students studying at the institute. IES will also provide six-week internships to the students.
IES has a vast range of building analysis software tools and will be extending its capability in a number of areas including masterplanning, Smart Cities and Smart Building Control. Masdar Institute has educational and research and development interests in all these areas and particularly as related to Abu Dhabi and Masdar City in the United Arab Emirates. This agreement will allow students to use IES software on research and development for the Masdar Institute. IES will benefit from the feedback from this work, incorporating it into its own R&D programme.

Our agreement with IES will enable us to further develop this expertise in the service of greater energy efficiency in the building sector of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, through specialized training of our students and close interaction with the R&D team of IES.â€
