Biography

Dr. Naji Al-Sayari received his BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology, Florida, USA in 2001, in 2006 he received his MSc in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA and his PhD from the University of Manchester, Manchester, UK in 2011. Currently Dr. Al-Sayari is an Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at Khalifa University. His current research interests includes electric machines analysis, power electronics applications and renewable energy systems. He is also the co-founder of the Power Electronics and Advanced Sustainable Energy (PEACE) Lab at Khalifa University.

Dr. Al Sayari joined Khalifa University in 2012 (formerly Petroleum Institute) after being with the oil/gas industry for nearly 10 years where he gained his industrial experience. His mixed experience between industry and academia enriched his knowledge to explore topics and idea of research between the two sectors. Dr. Al Sayari has published many journal articles in renowned international journals, and conferences. He supervised many graduate students through their course of studies.
