Professor, Department of Civil Infrastructure and Environmental Engineering

Dr. Mylonakis specializes in geotechnical and earthquake engineering. He is Chair in Geotechnics and Soil-Structure Interaction at the University of Bristol, UK, and Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles - positions he retains. He is best known for his research in Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) with emphasis on piles and retaining structures. He has served as principal investigator or senior researcher in several sponsored research projects in the USA and Europe. He has also served as EBM in many international journals. Since 2021 he is Editor-in-Chief in Geotechnics Journal.
