Biography

Akihide Hidaka has been involved in research on behavior of radionuclides during a severe accident of nuclear power plant. His research interests include radionuclides release from fuel, aerosol transport and deposition in the reactor coolant system, primary containment vessel and reactor building, the atmospheric advection and diffusion at a time of their release into the environment, and the external exposure evaluation. Currently, he is engaged in research on source terms during the TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, in particular the radionuclide release behavior unique to the accident, while developing nuclear human resources at Japan Atomic Energy Agency and Khalifa University in UAE.
