9/15/2019 To 9/19/2019 the dates are open.  The number of hours are also open.  Most public speaking courses range between 8 and 16 hours typically over one or two days.  If the course is offered in the evenings over 5 days for 3 hours each, then the total would be 15 hours.  We’ll have to think about what’s most convenient for participants. Both approaches (a two-day program or a program spread over 5 evenings) have pros and cons.

Course Description

Public speaking consistently ranks as people’s top fear.  Indeed, many individuals find public speaking to be a daunting challenge. Yet being able to effectively represent yourself in public is vital. While some public speaking involves planned, rehearsed, formal speeches delivered before large audiences, most public speaking is unplanned, unrehearsed, and informal and occurs in our daily encounters with clients and colleagues. Whether you are interviewing for a job, pitching your startup, actively networking, or leading a boardroom presentation, developing effective public speaking skills in today’s highly competitive market is essential for personal and professional success. This coaching-based training course will help you create simple, clear and compelling presentations and deliver them effectively with confidence, authority and impact irrespective of the situation.  While this training is rigorously designed and draws on best practices, it is also very interactive, practical, and inspiring!  You will develop your public speaking skills in a supportive and positive environment because we all learn best when we feel comfortable and perform best when we feel confident. You will explore the spoken and nonverbal communication tools and techniques used by the world’s most successful public speakers in order to develop an authentic speaking style, engage an audience, and leave a lasting impression.  This training will help you become a more persuasive communicator in a range of settings, from one-on-ones to large groups and from informal to formal formats. You will also learn why, when, and how to shift between communication types.Through a variety of spoken presentations and small group activities, you will put these techniques into practice, test out new approaches, and learn to communicate with polish, poise, and professionalism. You will receive dedicated personal attention, video evaluation, assessment and feedback along with ample practical experience and guidance needed to engage, inform, and inspire others and improve your ability to communicate like a leader.
