Undergraduate Admissions

  • Admission for the Undergraduate Spring 2020 is now closed.

Candidates who would like to apply to enroll on a Khalifa University undergraduate program must apply online.

Upon completion of the application form, applicants should wait to receive an invitation from the University regarding admission exams and personal interview.

Khalifa University offers 12 undergraduate engineering programs. The normal length of all undergraduate engineering programs is 140 credits. These credits are divided into 76 credits of general education requirements and 64 credits of Major requirements.

Note: All programs offered by Khalifa University have received accreditation by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Accreditation attests to the overall quality of the individual degree programs. 

  • Khalifa University Scholarship

    Scholarship for UAE Nationals

    Full scholarships covering 100 % of tuition fees are provided to UAE national students. Monthly stipends are also provided to eligible UAE national students based on their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). Details are as follows. This is subject to conditions stipulated in the General Scholarship Terms and Conditions.
    New Students

    Scholarship for NON-UAE Nationals

    (a)  Full Scholarships
    A limited number of full scholarships are available for non-national students with outstanding academic performance and personal qualities. These scholarships are very highly competitive.

    President’s Scholarship
    The President’s Scholarship is our most prestigious tuition grant reserved for students on the basis of their academic achievements and excellence. To be considered for the President’s Scholarship, applicants must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher and be admitted into an Engineering or Science degree program.

    (b)  Partial Scholarships
    A number of partial-scholarships are available for non-national students with excellent academic performance and personal qualities. 

    Khalifa University Scholarship
    The Khalifa University Scholarship is a general tuition support grant for students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater. Commenced to be a financial support for hardworking and deserving students, the KU Scholarships continues to incentivize a great number of students to do better.

    (c)  Self-pay Scholarships
    Khalifa University offers additional financial support to students without established academic careers of excellence as a means to encourage and incentivize hard work and effort.  

    Self-pay Scholarship
    The self-pay scholarship is designed to help students who strive for recognition of their academic vigor after not initially qualifying for a scholarship. Students who are admitted to KU but did not maintain academic excellence and a high GPA before joining can make the most of this scholarship to prove themselves and receives financial reimbursements.

  • ADNOC Scholarship Program

    Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has established its scholarship program to support the education and training of UAE Nationals to take up leading positions in ADNOC and its Group of Companies.

    ADNOC Scholarship Program is offered exclusively to UAE nationals majoring in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering.

    ADNOC Scholarship Program STIPEND Scheme:

    Students under ADNOC Scholarship Program are eligible to get rewards based on the semester performance as below:

    Monthly Stipends From AED 5,000 to AED 9,000 per month
    Academic Awards From AED 10,000 to AED 15,000 per semester

  • Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) Scholarship ``Betha``

    The Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA), together with Khalifa University, has developed this scholarship program to help qualified UAE National students enroll in its undergraduate programs. The Be’tha Scholarship is available to UAE nationals who choose majors in Computer, Electrical and Communication Engineering.

    Betha Scholarship STIPEND Scheme:

    1. New Students

    UAE Nationals Stipend of AED 5,000 Per Month

    2. Continuing Students

    (Beginning second semester, awards are based on cumulative GPA)

    Nationals with GPA 3.8 or above Stipend of AED 9,000 Per month
    Nationals with GPA 3.2 – 3.79 Stipend of AED 7,000 Per month
    National with GPA 2.6 – 3.19 Stipend of AED 5,000 Per month
    National with GPA 2.0 – 2.59 Stipend of AED 3,000 Per month
    Nationals with GPA < 2.0 Waived fees

  • UAE Nuclear Energy Scholarship Program (ENEC & FANR)

    The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), together with Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KU), and the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) have developed a unique scholarship initiative to provide UAE Nationals with an unparalleled opportunity to be a part of what is expected to be a cornerstone of the UAE’s power supply industry for decades to come.

    Requirements:

    • Hold a UAE Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in Science with a minimum overall achievement of 85%.
    • All other admission requirements are as per Khalifa University Admission requirements.
    • Proof of English language proficiency which may take one of the following forms:
      • TOEFL (internet based test) : 70 or above
      • IELTS: 6.0 or above

  • Ajyal Talent Management - Tamayuz Scholarship Program

    The Tamayuz Scholarship Programme was established in 2013 and currently mentors and manages over 100 Emirati students in the UAE and the United States, preparing them for careers in science, security, technology, engineering and related fields.
    Tamayuz is offered to UAE nationals majoring in the following programs:

    • Computer Engineering
    • Communication Engineering
    • Software Engineering
    • Math & Statistics

    Requirements:

    • The applicant must hold UAE Citizenship and Family Book
    • For high school graduates, the applicant must have: Achieved a score of at least 90% in grade 12
    • For university students, the applicant must maintain a CGPA of minimum 3.2 and minimum 30 credit hours completed
    • The applicant must be medically fit
    • The applicant must be of good conduct

  • The Future Teachers

    Introduction

    The UAE Ministry of Education is preparing a pool of highly competent teachers to educate the next generation of public school students. This is in line with the Ministry’s priority to increase the number of highly qualified teachers in the country.

    As part of this objective, the Ministry, in collaboration with Khalifa University, has launched the ‘Future Teachers’ program, which offers qualified students scholarships in the following disciplines:

    • Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics
    • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry

     

    Program Goals

    The program aims to offer scholarships to Emirati and Arab students living in the UAE to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics or in Chemistry to serve as future teachers in the country.

    It also seeks to provide future teachers with opportunities to be involved in community service and to receive academic and professional support and training while they are studying.

    Furthermore, the program ensures that the future teachers will receive high-quality professional experience through available job opportunities at the Ministry of Education after their graduation.

     

    Program Eligibility Criteria

    For Emirati students

    Emirati students are subject to the same requirements for admission to Khalifa University.

    For Arab students living in the UAE

    The student must meet the following requirements:

    • Be a citizen of any Arab country
    • Be a resident of the UAE for the last three years
    • Have high school certificate or its equivalent from one of the accredited schools in the country
    • Must not be more than 20 years old and should have graduated high school within the past year
    • Should have a score of at least 85% or its equivalent in the general secondary certificate exam
    • Must have a score of 1400 in the EmSAT English test
    • Should be a full-time student
    • Should have secured admission to Khalifa University to study Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.

     

    Program Advantages

    The program covers tuition fees at Khalifa University.

    It also provides housing and transportation for students who meet the conditions for receiving housing at Khalifa University.

    Program graduates will be given priority employment at the Ministry of Education.
