Learning Outcomes

  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate mechatronics solutions to meet a given set of engineering and manufacturing requirements.
  • Ability to use techniques, skills, and tools necessary for mechatronics-based solutions.
  • Ability to synthesize and integrate mechatronics based solutions for optimum implementation.

Program Requirements

The Minor in Mechatronics consists of 21 credit hours distributed as follows: 6 credits of Background courses; 12 credits of Core courses; 3 credits of a Mechatronics Elective course.

Some courses can be double-counted as a requirement for the Major of the student. However, a minimum of 12 credits additional to the Major is required for the Minor program.

    ECCE 300 Signals, Circuits and Communications (3 credits, Pre-requisites MATH 204 & MATH 206) – not offered to Electrical and Computer Engineering majors
    MEEN 300 System Dynamics and Control (3 credits, Pre-requisites MATH 204 & MATH 206) – not offered to Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering majors

    MEEN 484 Mechatronics (3 credits, Pre-requisites MEEN 350 OR AERO 350 OR MEEN 300) 
    MEEN 485 Introduction to Robotics (3 credits, Pre-requisites MEEN 350 OR AERO 350 OR MEEN 300)
    MEEN 487 Advanced Mechatronics (3 credits, Pre-requisites MEEN 484, (ECCE 300 OR ECCE 302))
    MEEN 488 Mechatronics Systems Design (3 credits, Pre-requisite MEEN 485, co-requisite: MEEN 487)
